#001: putney, SW15.

Wandsworth Park boasts gorgeous riverside views of Hurlingham, and its tree-lined avenues are often teeming with runners, cyclists, dogs and little ones.

With leafy parks and riverside cafés galore, Putney oozes small-town charm and is perfectly situated on London’s doorstep.

Where to grab coffee:

"Hmmm, this is tricky as Putney is full of great cafés! Another Brother on Putney Bridge Road is perfect for a takeaway coffee if you're strolling around the nearby riverside Wandsworth Park.

Home SW15 on the Upper Richmond Road, equidistant from East Putney tube station and Putney rail station, is also great if you fancy sitting in for a more leisurely start to your day. Beyond breakfast, their dinner menu never fails to disappoint."

Veena’s favourite place in town:

"East Putney Tavern opposite the tube station is my go to for a post-work drink. Also, the Coat and Badge is a lovely pub close to the river with gorgeous outdoor seating in the warmer months. For those who prefer waterfront views, the Boathouse pub is another prime location for pints. Basically just a list of top notch locals, but there you go."

Putney’s best hidden gem:

"The Source Bulk Foods on Putney High Street is my haven for pantry staples and healthy nibbles during the work day. Every time I'm there I pick up chocolate covered dates, Asian snack mixes and organic granola — you pay for everything by weight."

Her favourite thing about living in Putney is being on the District Line; she doesn't tolerate anyone speaking ill of London's best and most spacious tube line.
