why we’re here
postcode pours makes products inspired by where you are, designed to celebrate whatever “home” means to you. As great as flowers are, we believe there’s nothing like a personalised gift — and that they shouldn’t be prohibitively expensive, with hefty markups on monogramming and gift wrapping. Plus, normal candles are boring!
At once evoking old memories and helping create new ones, each fragrance and destination is designed to be a unique reminder of where you are. Strike a match to celebrate a fresh start in a new home, bring a housewarming gift to new neighbours or bask in the nostalgia of the places you’ve been. Postcodes are an ode to our roots and a salve for the homesick soul.
Our candles are hand-poured with love in the U.K. using a premium soy and coconut wax blend, and sent to you from our studio in South West London, with 20% of profits donated to youth homelessness charity Centrepoint UK.
MEET THE MAKER
welcome, and thank you for being here.
During the pandemic lockdown of 2020 while travel wasn’t an option, I found myself imagining new ways of celebrating the home and neighbourhood in which I’d spent more time than ever. Putney became my only stomping ground: like most people, I was working at my kitchen table during the week, doing groceries on the weekend, going for the occasional run — and that was about it.
I started making homemade Putney SW15 candles for neighbours, selling them locally to residents and donating proceeds to charity. Pretty soon, I was fulfilling orders across London and taking custom postcode requests. Not long after that, postcode pours was born. Check out this video on Instagram for more.
I was born in Singapore to Irish and Thai parents, educated in the UK, attended university in the US and now live by the river in London. Without a single place to call home, my life has been defined by where I’ve spent my time (TN13, N1, and NW1, to name a few). Now we’ve moved into our own flat in Fulham (SW6), and I think I’ve finally found a home of my own.
postcode pours was ignited by my love for London, and is a way to celebrate and share this sense of home with others. Alongside my gratitude for calling London home is the sobering knowledge that not everyone has access to basic housing, which is why 20% of all profits is donated to youth homelessness organisation Centrepoint UK.
My postcode is now part of my chronology, and marks some of the happiest moments I can remember: strolls around Eel Brook Common, a delightful Sunday spent at one of Parsons Green’s famous pubs, and an abundance of coffee shops to choose from each morning. Whether a bucket-list daydream, the location of a first home or a memento of an experience years ago, I hope postcode pours brings a flicker of adventure and an abundance of light into your world, whichever road you travel next.
